If you want a cook book to use for recipes, don't buy this one.
There are ingrediants and measures that you have never heard which
is totally useless. There are also strange dishes such as calf
brains that you would never use ........

I find the only bit of value for this book is some good old Louisville
nostalga.

I will get a lot of good recipes out of this book. It will take the home chef some interpretations with some of the recipes.
I love this cookbook!! The fact that it represents my family history and the history of my favorite city to live is the best part of this cookbook.
What a fun book. So cool to take a peek back in time. The recipes are a little difficult to follow at times though, so I haven't actually attempted to make anything from this book. My favorite recipe I've found in the Blue Ribbon Cookbook however is "toast water"
